Not just emailing a code and hoping.
UnlockOS started by building smart locks. That is why the handover of the key itself is where we differ most.
Sound familiar?
- You email a code and have no idea whether it arrived
- The code you sent gets forwarded and used by someone else
- The phone rings at midnight asking for the number again
- Every extension means sending a fresh code
With UnlockOS
- The key on screen changes every three minutes, so a forwarded screenshot is useless
- Doors open even where there is no signal
- Extensions and time changes are followed automatically
- Not tied to one manufacturer — start with the locks you already own
- Close the browser and the same link brings the key straight back
A key that changes every three minutes
The code on the guest's screen is replaced every three minutes. Screenshot it and send it on, and it has expired by the time it arrives.
- Works on doors with no internet connection
- A power cut or outage does not lock your guests out
Extend without resending
When a stay is extended or the time changes, the key already on screen keeps working. Nothing is reissued.
- Access ends automatically at check-out
- Nothing to collect back
Lost it? Come straight back
Closed the browser, flat battery — the same link restores exactly where they were. Late-night calls drop away.
- Bookmark it and the next visit is one tap
- Time remaining and running total are on the same screen
Delivered over LINE too
Guests do not have to open an email. In Japan, LINE reaches them far more reliably.
- Members can pull up their key any time from a page of their own
- Nothing to install
Common questions
Does this work with other manufacturers' locks?
Yes. UnlockOS is not one manufacturer's product — it runs on a lock adapter that treats every lock the same way. KEYVOX is built in and works immediately, but locks from other makers, and hardware you wire up yourself, connect through that same adapter.
Do doors open without an internet connection?
Yes. The check happens at the door, so doors in places with no signal still open.
Can guests use a numeric code instead?
Yes. Use codes or QR depending on the hardware and the guest.
Why does the key handover matter so much?
Owning the key means you can hold it back until you have what you need, and keep it valid through an extension. A booking tool or a form builder cannot do either, because it does not issue the key.
